Blizzard Rustler 10
New Build, Same Intent — Blizzard’s Smoothest Freeride Weapon Yet
🎥 Brian broke it down, and I took it out. No frills — just an honest look at the updated Rustler 10 in its natural East Coast habitat. Walkthrough with Brian Seiden – Pedigree Ski Shop GM
🔧 What’s New This Year
Same shape, new guts. Blizzard updated the Rustler 10 with a refined True-Blend Free Core — their hand-crafted wood mix that strategically places denser woods (like beech) underfoot and lighter poplar/paulownia at the extremities.
It delivers a damp and confident ride in crud and chop, while keeping the swing weight low when you need to whip a turn or change direction fast.
Unlike the full Titanal you’d see in skis like the Bonafide, the Rustler uses FluxForm — Blizzard’s strategic metal layer that gives you stability underfoot and lets the tip and tail stay loose. Translation?
You get power when charging, but the ski doesn’t punish you in bumps or tight glades.
Blizzard dialed in the taper and sidecut just slightly from previous years — the ski enters and exits turns a touch smoother, especially on firmer East Coast snow.
🧠 How It Skis
This version of the Rustler 10 feels stronger but more composed. It holds an edge better than past models without losing that playful release when the terrain gets fun. You can ski it centered and flowy or push it forward when you're in the mood to charge.
It’s still the most versatile ski in the Rustler line — and maybe in the whole Blizzard family.
🎯 Who It’s For
East Coast skiers who want width without a fight
Advanced skiers looking for a surfy-but-stable daily driver
People who ski bumps, glades, and chop more than groomers
Former comp skiers who still want to have fun
📍 Where We Skied It
Stratton, VT — variable snow all day. This ski cruised through groomers, floated afternoon bumps, and never felt nervous. If you're skiing Killington, Sugarbush, or Cannon regularly, this ski belongs in your bag.
